Do I qualify for Maine's $300 Relief Payment?

Maine is now providing a one-time $300 relief payment per adult to help with rising costs.

If you already filed a 2025 Maine state tax return, you will automatically receive this payment as a mailed paper check (and don’t need to do anything) if your federal adjusted gross income is:

  • Under $50,000 (individual filer)
  • Under $75,000 (head of household)
  • Under $100,000 (married filing jointly)

There is no minimum earnings requirement. So even if you don’t usually file taxes, you can still get this money, you just need to file a state tax return using your SSN or ITIN. The deadline to apply is October 15, 2026.

You can see the status of your payment or check if you're eligible on Maine Revenue Service's website.
